The selected product was covered with a layer of 18k gold which thickness is between 0.5 - 1.5 µm, and it is used for decorative purposes. The base metal of the product is sterling silver 925.
The gold plating is additionally protected by "electrocoating" finishing that helps to prevent fast tarnishing and discoloration.
